What will happen if I refuse to let law enforcement to search my car or house?

If law enforcement has a search warrant, simply ask for a copy to retain for your attorney. Be respectful, stay out of their way, do not speak or answer any questions. If they do not have a warrant and you refuse to let them search, they cannot do anything to you. However, this will typically upset the non-seasoned law enforcement officers. Some may begin to tell you things like “I am taking you to jail”, “I will be calling CYS to take your kids”, some may even tell you that you do not have a choice. You have rights and you have a right to privacy. Force the law enforcement officer to get a search warrant.
